A moment of silence for Value City

Before there was TJ Maxx, before there was Kohls, there was Value City. I spent about 147,235 hours of my childhood and teenager years in the Canton, Ohio, store. The cashiers all knew my mom by name. Cartloads of clothes. Cat fights in the aisles. Detritus* on the shelves. I didn't appreciate what we had at the time.
