. . . is like the nerd friend you had who has since grown her hair long and started wearing heels and might even have a tatoo.

Check it out.

Some more cool summer decorating

Leave it to Brazilians to know how to beat the heat. These are two different homes by two different designers - Sig Bergamin and Carlos Miele - not sure which came from where anymore.

There but for a fear of color and pattern go I.

Happiness is watermelon and a fancy spoon

We got a nice set of silverware using a gift card and 60-percent off at Bed, Bath and Beyond. No more eating melon with our hands.

I'm usually not that into blue.

What inspired in June

Here are a few things that inspired you and me in June.

Above is organic art by Paul Schick via Griege. Makes you want to do something with sticks, doesn't it?

Cristin at Simplified Bee was inspired by summer party decorations, but I also got excited about her sneak peek of West Elm's fall items, especially this coffee table.

Amber Interiors featured this modern macrame.

Laura at Design Share did this smart DIY by making a suzani rug/floorcloth from . . . a Target tablecloth. I bow to her.

Modern Country Lady made this. I don't know what it is, and she's not telling, yet.

Chelsea at Vignettes was inspired by this summer house.

And Lia at Smart n Snazzy knocked off some $50 Disney Couture earrings.

See all the projects and inspiration at the June blog party.

Eddie Borgo padlock jewelry inspiration.

Seems DIYable.
