  2. I don't mean it in a bad way at all but YES, I have experimented with colored shoelaces when I was a teenager, lol. We did not have lots of stylish things available in the former USSR so maybe that's where my fascination with DIY comes from. I had a pair of cutest black suede booties and I replaced the original black laces with bright red ones. Wore these with an over-sized bright green sweater (that came down almost to my knees) and bleached skinny jeans (sweater handmade by grandma; jeans bleached by me and mom - but that's a whole another story)).
Anyway, your black oxfords with those raspberry-red shoelaces are a grownup version of what i was telling you about. Thanks so much for bringing back good memories!!

    p.s.
OK. I have to share the bleached denim story as well. As I told you there were no stylish products available in the former USSR. Apparently, not only bleached was impossible to find but even plain girls jeans were scarce. So those jeans of mine were made by a seamstress from my sketch with the fabric provided. Then Mom and I bleached the pair but the only problem was the only kind of household bleach available came in powder form. Not as in fine powder but more like as petrified clumps. So the pants turned out to have literally bleached spots. Looked sort of as if someone threw up on them. It sure turned soviet peoples heads, felt like everyone was staring at me. I only wore those pants on days when I felt particularly courageous :D Again, thanks so much for bringing back fun memories ;)
