Dear blogging friends

Please turn off word verification for comments. It was always bad. Now it's terrible. You're driving people to Pinterest.

In Blogger, it's under the Settings tab and Comments subsection.

If you're worried some madman will leave a crazed remark, turn on Comment moderation. It can even send you an E-mail any time you need to approve a comment.

Bless you.

  1. I feel like I fail the 'human' test every time I can't make them out (which is often). Good advice!

  2. I have so many comments that I hit post and then close the tab (I always have a ton of tabs open) and then realized after I do that I was prompted by some captcha nonsense.

  3. Thank you! You know, I thought I had turned this off on my blog, but somehow it was on. And it turns on in the new Blogger interface you CANNOT choose this option! It's nowhere to be found. So, I had to go back to the old interface, turn off word verif, then go back to new interface. Problem solved. I know I hate word verification when I have to go through it on someone else's blog. Thanks for the prompt to get rid of it on mine. Much needed.

  4. Don't know why Google has to make this so hard.
