At last count I owned five Little Black Dresses and two Big Black Dresses, all of which I had sidelined for the winter. But this feature in More magazine made me reconsider.
Celeb stylist Phillip Bloch put together these looks, which tells me I need a LPB for my LBD. (Also makes me want big hair but that's delusional.) For the warm weather equivalent, check out Elizabeth Heart's Dress Diaries where she works a very L LBD into 30 different looks.

Dare I ask how many LBDs you have?
Oh several, but none are particularly dressy (and I should fix that!) -- a wrap dress, a sweater dress, a super-casual dress from BR that I tend to wear around the house....
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and I think I also have 3 black maternity dresses (maternity clothes ONLY seem to come in black!).
Too many but I don't actually like any of them- perhaps I should try a little DIY makeover:)
ReplyDeleteI think I have one and it really isn't anything I would ever wear anywhere. Sad, but true. =)
ReplyDeleteI have one LBD, Little Blue Deer. Ba ha ha, I crack my self up! These are gorgeous! XX!
ReplyDeleteI have about 7 on my last count, and I don't wear any of them :)
ReplyDelete*sob* I have zero, but that's because I'm a stay at home parent who has totally neglected her warddrobe.
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work on this blog!
Gulp - none, and unlike Cassandra, I'm neither stay at home, nor a parent! However, I don't often go anywhere fancy... perhaps I need to work on that ;)
ReplyDeleteShari's comment is very funny. I have about 7 - all still getting good use. And they make me feel empowered because now I have enough so I can go into shops without buying any more. Now you've got me thinking about Big Hair too.
ReplyDeleteThree, I suppose, if LBD can also refer to Little Blue Dress.
ReplyDeleteOne is stretchy and doesn't need ironing so I live in it during summer, the other one is made of really soft jersey and I should get around to wearing it one of these days.... and then there is a fairly formal number which I have never really worn because there's not much call for formal dressing on the farm. Sad but true.
sunscreen always ;) I kind of feel like that last pic right about now. Is it 5pm yet?
