Tom at the bottom. (See white arrow.) Tourists gasped. Locals told us later that it's even better to walk behind the falls. Later we discussed who among our friends and family would hike to the bottom of Wailua Falls.
Tom's office:
- Nathan - yes
- Chad - no
- Stolfi - never
- Rick - only if hurled over the railing
- Dennis - yes
- Matt - maybe
- Bob - Noooooo.
- Mark Q - Would fall to his death
- Mark M - Definitely. And would probably bungee, too.
Sam's Office:
- Greg - yes, head first
- Jaron - maybe
- David, Zack, Sharad, Art, Nathan, Lina - No, no, no, no, no.
Friends:
- Bryce - Totally. Would be planning for it weeks in advance.
- Liana - Would try but would need an ankle brace.
- Bruce G - No, I can't understand why anyone would want to
Family:
- Tom's mom and dad - would want to but can't
- My mom and dad - would not want to and would have a panic attack while Tom goes down
- Beau and Ryan - Yes, twice
- Uncle Beau - yes, and would scrape himself up on organ-rejecting organism covered rocks and would find fish, alligators, turtles and Nessie somewhere in the water.
- Valerie - Would lead the way.
- Tim, Cindy, Arica, Chelsea, Blake - No, no, yes, maybe, yes.
- Ben and Samantha - Yes, Yes
- Dan - No. And would not understand why everybody else is down there.
There are two kinds of people in this world - those who would hike to the bottom of Wailua Falls and those who would not. (Oh, and what about me? In typical ambivalent fashion, I hiked half way down, whining. )
