Our neighborhood is quiet today except for the sound of chainsaws and the mayor's helicopter. We are fortunate to be on high ground and in a neighborhood with electricity and relatively stable Internet and phone service. Trees, branches and leaves are down everywhere.
The park in front of us flooded as did
neighboring DUMBO. Yours truly had her head under a pillow during the worst of it.
Best wishes to everybody cleaning up.
Glad to hear you and the Heights fared ok!
ReplyDeleteDo you still live in DUMBO?
Deleteglad you are safe and with power!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe. Do I see beautiful ginkgo leaves in your photo?
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. The storm was life threatening and damaging but also had beauty of a sort.
DeleteAs a born and bred New Yorker (mom from the Bronx, dad from Brooklyn), I know New Yorkers are tough and will make it through this and stay strong. I live a few hours north, but my heart is in NYC.
DeleteVery glad all is well. In blogland, it's easy for me to forget people live in "real" places with real weather. Credit to you for having the sense to hide under a pillow...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did not sneak out for photos, go surfing or try to test the wind.
